Electric Vehicle Driving Trips
Probably the most common question we get about owning an EV is "How far can they go?". This is closely followed by "how long does it take to charge?".
To be honest, the answer to these questions is kind of complicated.
EVs charge at different rates, can travel different distances on a single charge, and different places have different kinds of chargers. Once the infrastructure exists to remove uncertainty around charging, it won't matter as much, just like it doesn't for gas-powered vehicles; however right now, you may be limited by the kinds of chargers on your route or you may have to choose a route that gets you traveling by chargers.
We thought the best way to answer these questions was to provide the details of some of the trips we have taken in our EVs. Click the link below to see some of the trips we've taken in our EVs; in them we will describe how much battery each leg required, where we charged, how long the charging took, and what compromises were necessary.
